NBC last summer renewed its Will & Grace revival for a second season ahead of its fall premiere. ABC had similarly been laying the groundwork for a second season of its Roseanne revival in the weeks leading to its March 27 debut. I hear the network has closed deals with the cast of the blue-collar, politically-charged sitcom. They are all are set to return for Season 2, which I hear is expected to be 10-13 episodes, up from 9 for the first installment.
I hear the Carsey-Werner Television-produced Roseanne has an early renewal deadline — which is not uncommon for high-profile series — and ABC has until April 15 to pick up a second season. After the blockbuster ratings for the premiere last night, the network likely won’t wait that long. ABC had no comment.
